One of my main goals in life is to someday live in San Francisco. I know i should write more about it, and i promise i will, but for now i'll just post a picture. xoxo

p.s. this is from Rookie
Lately i have been feeling nostalgic. I've been having the urge to try to remember memories of when i was younger, and to write them down. So, today, i remembered one, so here it is, The First time going to my friend, Darby's house in the fourth grade:

Their house smelled like incense, cigarettes, and must. It was the first time I had ever been to Darby’s house, and it was when they lived in the small duplex right across the street from Ballard high school. I remember that is a warm, sunny day. I remember seeing dolls, trinkets, records, and Halloween stuff filling their shelves. We went upstairs to Darby’s mom’s room.  We sat on her bed, all three of us; Darby still in her pink footie pajamas, and her mom, who now goes by Kook Teflon or Miss Oblivious, sewing dolls. We watched gory movies and ate Garlic bread, which is Darby’s favorite food. “Kook” had just finished making a small batch of small pillows in an assortment of colorful fabrics. She asked me to pick the one I liked and said I could keep it. She said that she thought she knew which one I wanted but that she would let me choose anyway. So, as I picked up the small, yellow pillow with tiny pentagons filled with flowers, she said “I KNEW IT!”
There are so many more stories to tell about Darby like when we pretended to film a TV show in her bathroom, or watching movies under her bed, or going to folk life for the first time, or even making a medical kit for our project on the civil war and having to use it directly after because I stabbed my hand with a pencil. Like I said, there are a lot of stories, probably enough to fill a whole book. But I was just trying to think of memories, and this was the first to pop into my head. This is a memory, Darby is a memory, I share so many memories with her, many of which I will never forget.
